Why the name confuses people
RYA Day Skipper is a cruising-yacht qualification with a theory course and a five-day practical. RYA Day Sailing is a dinghy module. They sit in different schemes and neither counts toward the other.

- Sailors who want to cruise a small boat rather than circle a set of buoys.
- What it is not
- Not the same as RYA Day Skipper, which is a yacht qualification. The names are close; the courses are not.
