RYA Yachtmaster Coastal
The first Yachtmaster level: competent to skipper on passages near safe haven.
Yachtmaster Coastal is a Certificate of Competence for experienced coastal sailors.
This should have a separate page from Coastal Skipper Practical because they are not the same thing.
The Coastal Skipper course is training.
Yachtmaster Coastal involves independent examination against the certificate standard.
- Who it suits
- Coastal Skippers whose sea time and night hours meet the current requirement.
- What it is not
- Not an offshore qualification, and its commercial endorsement route is separate again.
